Legal Assistant - Family Law 

We are seeking a Legal Assistant - Family Law to provide high-level administrative and legal support to our Family Law team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced legal environment. You will be responsible for document preparation, case file management, client communication, and supporting attorneys with daily operations.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Legal Document Preparation: Transcribe, edit, proofread, and file legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence
  • Client & Attorney Support: Manage calendars, coordinate meetings, and handle professional client communications
  • File & Case Management: Organize, maintain, and manage legal files in accordance with firm procedures
  • Billing & Administrative Tasks: Assist with billing, maintain contact lists, and provide general administrative support
  • Court Filings: Prepare and process court documents, including manual and electronic filings

Required Experience

  • 2+ years of experience as a Legal Assistant or similar administrative role in a law firm
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal software (Surepoint, NetDocuments)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in family law or litigation support
  • Knowledge of e-filing court systems and legal document formatting
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
