Key Responsibilities:

  • Review federal and state tax returns for individuals, corporations (C and S), partnerships, and trusts
  • Supervise, mentor, and train staff accountants and interns
  • Conduct tax research and support technical improvements across engagements
  • Assist with proposal development, internal documentation, and training programs
  • Support firm-wide initiatives like recruiting, marketing, and professional development

Required Experience:

  • 3+ years of progressive experience in public accounting or CPA firm environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Master’s in Accounting or MBA preferred)
  • Willingness to adjust hours during peak tax season

Nice-to-Have Experience:

  • Familiarity with multi-state tax compliance
  • Experience in mentoring or training junior staff
  • Participation in recruiting or firm-wide initiatives

Required Skills:

  • Proficient in preparing and reviewing individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns
  • Strong ability to supervise, coach, and guide junior staff
  • Advanced skills in tax research, documentation, and problem solving

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with tax preparation software (e.g., CCH, ProSystem fx, UltraTax)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
