Financial Governance Associate ($150K/year)


Are you seeking a challenging opportunity in the real estate or private equity industry? We're looking for a Financial Governance Associate to join our team. Responsibilities:

  • Supervise assigned property and/or debt investment accounting staff, ensuring accuracy in account reconciliations and financial statements.
  • Lead the monthly closing and consolidation process for assigned portfolios, analyzing budget to actual results for discussion with senior executives.
  • Prepare and review quarterly financial statements and investor reports, ensuring compliance with partnership agreements and investor side letters.
  • Manage investment management fee and incentive fee calculations, as well as joint venture waterfall calculations and returns calculations.
  • Oversee external audit processes and manage third-party relationships with joint venture partners and servicers.
  • Develop and manage Performance Reporting Accounting staff, ensuring adherence to internal controls surrounding financial reporting disclosure and compliance.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in real estate or private equity industry (7 years preferred), with experience in financial statements preparation.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration required, accounting concentration preferred.
  • CPA license and public accounting experience preferred, with a strong understanding of internal controls and Registered Investment Adviser/Sarbanes Oxley experience.
  • Proficiency in advanced Excel skills and ability to adapt to technology changes.
