Controller – Real Estate Investments
Our client specializing in real estate development is seeking a Controller to lead their accounting functions. The role offers an estimated pay range of $140,000-$200,000 annually, complemented by a comprehensive benefits package. This position provides a flexible hybrid work schedule, including three days in-office and two days remote each week.

Responsibilities
- Lead development accounting for current data center projects, including setup and maintenance of job cost systems
- Analyze and reforecast development costs; assist with scenario analysis
- Calculate management and incentive fees; review contracts for payment terms and allocations
- Manage seamless transition from construction accounting to operational reporting
- Oversee operational accounting, including monthly financial reporting, budgeting, and variances analysis
- Coordinate with property management on rent, recoveries, and facility fees
- Oversee corporate accounting functions such as month-end closing and annual audits
- Supervise and develop team members, conducting regular performance reviews
Credentials
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Valid controller or senior accounting license preferred
- Minimum of 8 years of accounting experience
- Proficiency with Yardi, MRI, or similar property management software
- Extensive experience in real estate or development accounting
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and accrual-based accounting
- Proven experience in development and operational real estate accounting
- Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills
- Ability to adapt in a fast-paced and evolving work environment
- High attention to detail and a strong work ethic
