Crisis Call Center Agent – Framingham, Massachusetts

You will serve as a Crisis Call Center Agent for a nationwide mental health crisis line dedicated to providing immediate support during emotional crises. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by assisting individuals facing mental health challenges, including suicidal ideation, and contributing to the community by alleviating emergency services' burden. Compensation includes a pay rate of $22 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Respond to calls from individuals experiencing mental health crises or distressing situations
• Demonstrate empathy and maintain a nonjudgmental tone throughout interactions
• De-escalate callers as needed and support emergency contact procedures
• Log call details accurately and utilize internal systems efficiently
• Maintain emotional resilience between calls

Credentials

• High School Degree or GED

Required Experience and Skills

• At least 1 year of experience in a customer-facing or support-related role
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and Google Chrome
• Exceptional empathy and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work in a high-stress environment and exercise sound judgment

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Prior experience in emergency or crisis support roles
• Experience working in mental health or high-stress settings
