Assistant Controller, Property Accounting
This is a leadership role in accounting and finance within a growing organization that manages a diversified commercial real estate portfolio. You will have the opportunity to influence company strategy and growth while collaborating within a high-integrity, team-focused environment.
Key Details:
- Base Pay Range: $140,000 - $150,000
- Bonus eligible up to 20%

Responsibilities
- Lead financial accounting and reporting for a diversified commercial real estate portfolio
- Review and approve monthly, quarterly, and annual property-level financial statements
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls
- Manage, mentor, and develop property accounting and financial reporting teams
- Serve as a key contact for auditors, lenders, and joint venture partners
Credentials
- Valid CPA license preferred but not required
- CPAs or Public accounting experience will be considered a plus
Required Experience and Skills
- Minimum of 7 years of commercial real estate property accounting experience
- At least 3 years of team leadership or management experience
- Proven ability to prepare and review commercial real estate financial statements
- Hands-on experience with real estate accounting systems (Yardi required; MRI preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Experience with acquisitions, dispositions, and debt financing transactions
- Exposure to institutional or joint venture real estate structures
- Experience supporting system integrations or automation initiatives
