We are seeking an experienced Fund Controller to join a growing real estate investment firm. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting leader who will own fund reporting, support investors, and partner closely with leadership on portfolio performance.
Key Details
- Pay Range: $140,000 - $170,000 base
- Bonus: Includes annual bonus up to 20%
- Benefits: Includes health, dental, vision, 401k, and other full-time employee benefits
- Work Arrangement: Hybrid (4 days on-site, 1 day remote per week)
Responsibilities
- Oversee fund accounting, reporting, and close processes
- Prepare and review quarterly and annual financial statements
- Manage investor reporting, capital account statements, and performance reporting
- Oversee capital calls, distributions, and waterfall calculations
- Coordinate with auditors, tax advisors, and third-party partners
- Review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Partner with acquisitions and asset management on transactions and portfolio activity
- Support audits, tax reporting, and process improvements
- Mentor junior accounting staff as needed
Required Qualifications
- Must have 7+ years of accounting experience in real estate investment, private equity real estate, or REIT environments
- Strong grasp of fund and multi-entity accounting
- Experience managing month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close
- Ability to prepare and review fund financial statements
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA
- Experience with fund audits and external auditors
- Background supporting complex real estate portfolios
- Prior process improvement or team leadership experience
